Saguaro Cloth Hanger
Saguaro Cloth Hanger is an innovative furniture design piece that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of natural inspiration and functional minimalism in contemporary interior design. Created by Iranian designer Miro Nazarian, this distinctive cloth hanger draws its aesthetic inspiration from the iconic Saguaro cactus, translating its organic silhouette into a sophisticated piece of functional art. Standing at 1900mm in height with a 250mm square base, the hanger is crafted from lightweight metal tubing with a steel round base, combining durability with elegant proportions. The design's distinctive branching structure not only serves its primary function as a clothing storage solution but also doubles as a sculptural decorative element, embodying the growing trend of multifunctional furniture design. This piece represents a thoughtful approach to furniture design where natural forms are reinterpreted for domestic use, demonstrating how biophilic design principles can be successfully applied to everyday objects. The minimalist aesthetic, characterized by clean lines and a restrained form, allows the piece to integrate seamlessly into various interior settings while maintaining its unique character. Recognized for its innovative approach and design excellence, the Saguaro Cloth Hanger was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category, acknowledging its contribution to contemporary furniture design through its creative interpretation of natural forms and functional versatility. The design, completed in September 2017, stands as a testament to the potential of nature-inspired furniture to enhance both the functionality and aesthetic appeal of living spaces.
