Ruyuan Sales Centre
Ruyuan Sales Centre is an innovative interior design project located in Xi'an, China, that masterfully blends contemporary architectural elements with traditional Chinese cultural aesthetics. Completed in 2018, this 1,000-square-meter sales center represents a significant achievement in experiential commercial space design, distinguished by its unique circular entryway inspired by classical Chinese gardens, departing from conventional modern architectural approaches. The centerpiece of the design is a remarkable art installation in the reception area, comprising 70,000 steel fragments with fluorocarbon coating, meticulously arranged to depict the city's architectural transformation through time. The interior space demonstrates exceptional attention to material selection, featuring gray marble, malmstone, steel net, hard fabric coverings, and handmade bronze elements that create an elegant, stress-free environment conducive to communication and negotiation. Large bookcases serve dual purposes as both functional storage and spatial partitions while contributing to the space's poetic atmosphere. The project, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category in 2019, showcases innovative space utilization through varying heights and thoughtfully designed circulation patterns that create different emotional experiences for visitors. Despite challenging time constraints during development, the design successfully integrates contemporary approaches with historic charm, specifically tailored to appeal to the new middle class while honoring the local cultural context of Xi'an's college town district.
