Rublev Lounge Business Lounge
Rublev Lounge Business Lounge is an award-winning interior architectural masterpiece located within a major Moscow airport terminal, exemplifying a harmonious blend of Russian constructivist principles and contemporary design aesthetics. This sophisticated 2,600-square-meter space, completed in 2018, accommodates 460 guests and features distinctive union-shaped towers that serve as architectural focal points, effectively creating discrete functional zones within the expansive layout. The design draws profound inspiration from Russian constructivism and Vladimir Tatlin's architectural philosophy, incorporating elements that pay homage to traditional Russian architecture while maintaining a modern sensibility. The lounge's innovative ceiling design features dynamic lighting systems housed within round-shaped domes that adjust throughout the day, mimicking natural light patterns and enhancing passenger comfort. The space is thoughtfully segmented into various functional areas catering to dining, working, relaxation, and comfort, with materials including locally-sourced marble, steel, copper, glass, and sustainable wood. A dramatic round staircase wrapped in copper and accompanied by a glass elevator leads to a mezzanine level, which houses additional amenities including a bar, kitchen, meeting rooms, and sleeping quarters. The project, which garnered a Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design, is particularly notable for its sustainable approach, innovative use of space, and its successful integration of cultural elements with contemporary functionality. The design's attention to traveler wellbeing is evident in its acoustic considerations, ergonomic furniture selection, and the implementation of what was recorded as the world's longest food service line at the time of its completion.
