Rose Sofia Light Installation Light Installation
Rose Sofia Light Installation Light Installation is an innovative architectural lighting design created for a social establishment in the historic center of Sofia, Bulgaria, masterfully conceived and executed by industrial designer Ivan Radev. This sophisticated illumination system, completed in March 2015, represents a harmonious fusion of historical architecture and contemporary lighting technology, drawing inspiration from the symbolic significance of the rose flower and the building's connection to Bulgarian rose cultivation heritage. The installation consists of multiple rose-shaped lighting components, each measuring 1100mm in height and diameter, crafted from opal acrylics and incorporating advanced LED technology. The design's distinguishing feature lies in its computer-controlled lighting system, which enables dynamic manipulation of color, brightness, rhythm, movement, frequency, and intensity, creating immersive atmospheric experiences. This Bronze A' Design Award-winning creation demonstrates exceptional attention to proportion and scale, ensuring seamless integration with the building's authentic period architecture while delivering a modern interpretation of classical aesthetics. The installation's sophisticated programming capabilities allow for the orchestration of coordinated light shows, transforming the space and enhancing the ambient experience of patrons. The project exemplifies the successful marriage of traditional architectural elements with cutting-edge lighting technology, creating a memorable visual landmark that pays homage to Bulgaria's rose-cultivation heritage while pushing the boundaries of contemporary lighting design.
