Rogelio Polesello
Rogelio Polesello was a highly influential Argentine artist who made significant contributions to the fields of painting and sculpture. Born in Buenos Aires in 1928, Polesello's artistic career spanned several decades and was marked by a deep commitment to experimentation and innovation. He was associated with a number of different art movements, including kinetic art, Constructivism, and Pop Art, and his work was characterized by a bold use of color and geometric forms. Polesello's early work was heavily influenced by the Constructivist movement, which emphasized the use of simple geometric forms and a focus on the relationship between form and space. However, as his career progressed, he began to incorporate more complex forms and patterns into his work, drawing inspiration from a wide range of sources including Op Art and the vibrant colors of Latin American textiles. One of Polesello's most significant contributions to the world of art was his use of reflective materials such as aluminum and acrylic, which he used to create dynamic, interactive pieces that played with the viewer's perception of space and movement. His use of these materials was particularly influential in the development of the kinetic art movement, which sought to create works that appeared to move or change depending on the viewer's perspective. Throughout his career, Polesello remained committed to pushing the boundaries of traditional art forms and exploring new ways of engaging with his audience. His work continues to be celebrated today for its bold use of color and form, as well as its innovative approach to materials and technique.
