Rock Hidden - Build Core Postpartum Center
Rock Hidden - Build Core Postpartum Center is an innovative architectural and interior design project that revolutionizes the concept of postpartum care facilities through its thoughtful integration of natural elements and medical functionality. The design, created by Tang, chung-han from Taiwan, employs a distinctive radiated structure that facilitates efficient medical service delivery while embodying the symbolic journey of new life. At its core, the design concept draws inspiration from the arrival of a pelican, metaphorically representing the nurturing aspect of neonatal care services. The facility's architecture is characterized by its multilayered natural shade elements, incorporating abstract interpretations of tree shade, rock formations, and nest-like structures to create a harmonious healing environment. The interior space features a sophisticated combination of abstractly cut rock elements merged with multilayered ceiling designs, creating a unique spatial experience that supports both functional and emotional aspects of postpartum care. The project's nuclear concept, applied to the nursery area, symbolically represents the nutrition supply to an embryo, while the integrated vertical circulation system combines private routes with public spaces to ensure optimal mobility and privacy. This innovative approach to healthcare facility design earned recognition with a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its excellence in spatial organization, aesthetic innovation, and functional efficiency. The design's success lies in its ability to seamlessly blend practical medical requirements with biophilic design elements, creating a nurturing environment that supports the wellbeing of both mothers and newborns during the critical postpartum period.
