Robert Hansen
Robert Hansen was a notorious American serial killer who operated in Alaska during the 1970s and early 1980s. Born in 1939 in Iowa, Hansen moved to Alaska in 1967 and settled in Anchorage. He was a successful businessman and respected member of the community, but he had a dark side that he kept hidden from others. Hansen was responsible for the murders of at least 17 women, many of whom were prostitutes or dancers. He would kidnap them, take them to remote locations, and then hunt them down like animals. Hansen was finally caught in 1983, thanks to the testimony of a young woman who had managed to escape from him. He was sentenced to 461 years in prison and died in 2014 at the age of 75. Robert Hansen's crimes shocked the nation and inspired several books and movies, including the 2013 film The Frozen Ground starring Nicolas Cage and John Cusack. Hansen's case also highlighted the issue of violence against women and the importance of taking such crimes seriously.

He is especially famous for his series of woodcuts, where he used the wood texture to create texture and movement in his pieces. Examples of his woodcuts include The Ploughman, The Rider, and The King. In addition to his woodcuts, Hansen also created a series of sculptures which he carved in wood, metal, and stone, highlighting his expertise in various materials. The Last Supper and Walking Man are a few examples of Hansen's sculptures.
