Return to Rusticity Office is an innovative legal workspace design that reimagines the traditional lawyer's office environment through a thoughtful integration of natural materials and contemporary functionality. Completed in January 2018 in Taipei, this 396-square-meter interior project deliberately challenges the conventional stereotype of law offices as austere and impersonal spaces by embracing warmth and accessibility through extensive use of wood elements. The design, conceptualized by Creative Director Chu-Hsin Tsai and Designer Tommy Chen, masterfully balances professional sophistication with organic comfort, creating an environment that fosters both client trust and employee well-being. A standout feature of the space is its innovative use of LED technology in the conference room, where smart glass panels can transform from transparent to opaque, doubling as writable surfaces during meetings. The project's material palette centers on wood, chosen for its timeless appeal and natural affinity with human occupants, effectively softening the typically rigid atmosphere of urban office architecture. This harmonious blend of natural elements with modern office requirements earned the project an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, recognizing its success in creating a progressive professional environment that maintains cultural sensitivity while advancing workplace design principles.
