Residence C Residential house is an exemplary residential interior design project completed in northwestern Taiwan, showcasing a sophisticated approach to contemporary living spaces through its thoughtful material selection and spatial composition. The 254-square-meter residence, designed by Yi-Ching Lin and Shih-Ming Lu, demonstrates a masterful integration of materials including pandomo flooring, titanium metal accents, and walnut veneered elements, creating a mature and tranquil atmosphere through subtle dark color schemes and carefully controlled lighting. The design philosophy draws inspiration from the refined experience of wine tasting, where each architectural element unfolds gradually, similar to the layered complexity of a fine Bordeaux. The spatial arrangement follows a progressive layering principle, utilizing material transitions and color contrasts to delineate public and private zones effectively. Notable design features include rust-like sheets with low reflectivity wrapped in walnut veneered rims, and innovative piping closets encased in silver candle glasses, all orchestrated under soft, indirect lighting that emphasizes the unique characteristics of each material. The project, which was realized between May 2012 and July 2015, earned recognition with a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its excellence in spatial design and material innovation.
