Red House Exhibition

Red House Exhibition is a significant architectural art installation and cultural corridor designed to preserve and showcase urban history through an innovative blend of traditional aesthetics and modern technology. Located in a bustling tourist destination, this monumental installation features a series of massive metal corridors adorned with laser-cut imagery depicting historical architecture and cultural narratives. The structure, measuring 5400 mm x 16000 mm x 4500 mm, employs sophisticated engineering principles in its construction, utilizing stainless steel pipes, high-performance fluorocarbon baking paint, and computer-controlled LED lighting systems. Created by designers Chih Liang Liu and Sing Lee, this installation serves as a temporal bridge, connecting visitors with the city's vanishing landscapes and cultural heritage through eight chronologically arranged tunnel segments. The exhibition, which debuted at the 2024 Taipei Lantern Festival, represents a groundbreaking approach to public art and historical preservation, earning recognition with a Silver A' Design Award in the Fine Arts and Art Installation Design category. The installation's unique integration of architectural elements, lighting technology, and storytelling creates an immersive experience that allows visitors to explore and interact with historical narratives, while its careful consideration of structural mechanics and material durability ensures long-term sustainability. The project successfully overcomes the challenge of communicating complex historical information through purely visual means, making it accessible to both domestic and international visitors, while harmoniously integrating with its urban surroundings.
