Reconstruct Boundary Residence

Reconstruct Boundary Residence

Reconstruct Boundary Residence is an award-winning interior design project that exemplifies innovative spatial planning and thoughtful boundary redefinition in residential architecture. Located in Taiwan, this 495.8-square-meter renovation project transforms a decade-old apartment into a contemporary living space that masterfully balances social connectivity with private sanctuary. The design's core philosophy centers on dissolving traditional spatial boundaries while maintaining functional distinction through sophisticated material and color transitions. The entrance features a striking composition of suspended marble against wood veneer, complemented by iron elements and strategic lighting that creates an art gallery ambiance. The living area incorporates floor-to-ceiling windows with gauze curtains, orchestrating a dynamic interplay between natural and artificial light that transforms the space from bright and expansive during daylight hours to intimately cozy in the evening. The design employs a deliberate contrast between dark and light tones to delineate social and private zones, with the social areas characterized by a sophisticated palette of black, white, and gray, enhanced by custom-designed suspended iron laminations that create visual continuity between living and dining spaces. Notable innovations include the transformation of an enclosed space into a multifunctional study room with sliding glass doors, enabling parental supervision while maintaining spatial fluidity. The project, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design, showcases exceptional attention to technical challenges, including the successful integration of low-hanging beams and comprehensive structural reinforcement. The design's success is particularly evident in its ability to enhance family cohesion through thoughtful space planning, allowing for simultaneous yet separate social activities within the connected layout.
