Reborn Residential House

Reborn Residential House is an innovative residential interior design project that exemplifies thoughtful spatial transformation in contemporary urban living. Located in Taipei, Taiwan, this 98-square-meter renovation project masterfully addresses the challenges of a 40-year-old apartment with a long, narrow layout through sophisticated design solutions. The design, created by Yi Chun Chung, employs several ingenious architectural elements to maximize spatial perception, including segmented vertical lines on walls and grooved indirect ceiling details that create an illusion of extended height. The interior showcases a harmonious blend of materials, featuring pearl gray Italian coating on the sofa wall that complements the galaxy gray marble TV wall, establishing a refined aesthetic dialogue. The living space demonstrates exceptional attention to functionality and aesthetics, incorporating flush doors that cleverly conceal storage and piano rooms while maintaining visual continuity. A distinctive fish bone wall pattern in the dining area serves as an artistic focal point, while the open kitchen design successfully channels natural light from the rear balcony, enhancing spatial depth. The children's rooms feature whimsical elements such as hot air balloon-shaped bookcases and cloud chandeliers, fostering an environment conducive to creativity and imagination. The project, which was completed in July 2018, received recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its innovative approach to residential interior design. The design successfully integrates practical solutions with artistic elements, creating a sophisticated living environment that balances functionality with aesthetic appeal.
