Rebirth Office

Rebirth Office is an award-winning interior design project that exemplifies adaptive reuse and sustainable design principles through the thoughtful transformation of a forty-year-old warehouse into a contemporary workspace. Located in a narrow lane, this innovative design solution addresses the challenges of wall mold caused by prolonged orographical rain exposure through strategic architectural interventions. The design philosophy centers on preserving the space's primitive ambiance while introducing modern functionality, achieved by dismantling interior walls to expose the original concrete and brick structure, thereby improving ventilation and moisture control. The entrance features a sophisticated combination of glass and iron elements that creates a seamless visual connection between outdoor and indoor spaces, while a distinctive corridor with wood pattern tiles serves as a connecting element between different functional areas. The design incorporates sustainable materials and practices, minimizing the use of carpentry in favor of recyclable materials such as glass and iron, which can be easily removed and repurposed. The space is thoughtfully divided into functional zones, including a reception area featuring preserved fragmented red brick walls complemented by casual wood furnishings, an open display area for antique furniture, and a primary office space illuminated by LED lighting. A notable feature is the custom-made iron bookshelves with accompanying ladder, creating a European attic aesthetic, while the integration of plants growing from wall seams symbolizes the concept of rebirth and natural vitality. This Silver A' Design Award-winning project, completed in 2019, demonstrates excellence in interior space design through its innovative approach to space utilization, sustainable practices, and the harmonious blend of preserved historical elements with contemporary design solutions.
