Radial Fans
Radial fans, also known as centrifugal fans, are a type of mechanical fan that is widely used in various industries for moving air or gas. These fans are designed to generate high pressure and move large volumes of air or gas in a radial direction, perpendicular to the axis of rotation. They are commonly used in HVAC systems, industrial processes, and ventilation systems, among other applications. The design of a radial fan consists of a rotating impeller with blades that are curved in a radial direction. As the impeller rotates, it draws air or gas into the fan housing through an inlet and accelerates it towards the periphery of the impeller. The air or gas then exits the fan housing through a discharge outlet at a higher pressure and velocity than the inlet. The pressure generated by a radial fan is proportional to the square of the impeller speed and the density of the air or gas being moved. Radial fans are available in various configurations, including backward-curved, forward-curved, and radial-bladed designs. Backward-curved fans are commonly used in high-pressure applications, while forward-curved fans are used in low-pressure applications. Radial-bladed fans are used in applications that require a combination of high pressure and high flow rates. In addition to their high-pressure capabilities, radial fans are known for their energy efficiency and low noise levels. They are also easy to install and maintain, making them a popular choice for many industries.
