QUEENS SANDS VILLAS Residential Houses
QUEENS SANDS VILLAS Residential Houses is an exemplary architectural project comprising five luxurious residential villas strategically positioned on a cliff's edge overlooking the Mediterranean Sea in Queens Bay, Kissonerga, Cyprus. Designed by architect George Kalaitzides in collaboration with Atalya Grinberg and Vered Asterin Peremen, this distinguished development seamlessly integrates contemporary architectural principles with traditional Mediterranean elements. The project, recognized with a Bronze A' Design Award in the Architecture, Building and Structure Design category, features two distinct villa typologies: Type A front-row villas spanning two levels with 230 square meters of living space, and Type B second-row villas extending across three levels with 209 square meters of living space. The architectural composition demonstrates exceptional attention to material selection, incorporating French windows, glass balcony railings, rich marble flooring, and Italian-crafted built-in elements. A notable achievement of the design is its successful integration of two ancient Chalcolithic period wells under the guidance of the Cyprus Archaeological department, preserving historical heritage while creating modern living spaces. The villas are characterized by their thoughtful orientation maximizing sea views, private gardens with overflow swimming pools, and the sophisticated interplay between indoor and outdoor spaces that function as open-air rooms, embodying the essence of Mediterranean living. The project's commitment to quality construction, combined with its innovative approach to spatial organization and cultural sensitivity, establishes it as a significant contribution to contemporary residential architecture.
