Qinglu Residential House

Qinglu Residential House is a distinguished residential interior design project located in the LUSEHILLS international community of Chengdu's Tianfu new district, exemplifying a harmonious fusion of Chinese classical aesthetics with modern Western design sensibilities. Completed in 2018 by designer Haoling Yu and team, this 700-square-meter villa interior represents a radical transformation of traditional American villa architecture to better suit contemporary Chinese lifestyle needs. The design's most notable achievement lies in its innovative spatial reconstruction, where the original window lattices were strategically removed to maximize natural light penetration and create more rational, orderly spatial arrangements. The project's sophisticated color palette combines foundational gray and white tones with integrated blue-green elements, establishing a serene yet contemporary atmosphere that pays homage to both Eastern and Western design philosophies. The interior features several meticulously crafted spaces, including a living room with refined furniture details, a traditional teahouse embodying Eastern elements, and a uniquely designed kitchen system that accommodates both Chinese and Western culinary practices. A particularly remarkable feature is the transformed stairwell lobby, which evolved from a rectangular configuration into an arc-shaped space, enhancing the interior-exterior connection and spatial flow. The project, which won the Bronze A' Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design category, demonstrates exceptional attention to detail in its material selection, spatial planning, and cultural integration, successfully creating a living environment that balances functionality with artistic expression while maintaining strong connections to its natural surroundings.
