Qinglong Gucuiyinxiu Clubhouse
Qinglong Gucuiyinxiu Clubhouse is an exemplary architectural achievement that serves as the social nucleus of a prestigious residential development in Hangzhou, China, completed in 2019. This 1,860-square-meter masterpiece, spanning two floors, embodies the fundamental principles of pure, quiet, and calm design philosophy, earning recognition with a Golden A' Design Award in Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design. The clubhouse's architectural language emphasizes the seamless integration of built environment with natural surroundings, featuring a sophisticated interplay of light, shadow, space, and transparency. The design employs a refined material palette, including white stone that imparts an abstract quality to the composition, while warm timber elements enhance the communal spaces. A remarkable technical achievement is displayed in the nine-meter mortise-and-tenon structure, crafted without modern fixing materials, demonstrating exceptional architectural innovation. The interior progression is thoughtfully orchestrated, beginning with the monumental staircase adorned with traditional Chinese craftsmanship, leading to various functional zones including a lounge, display area, and wellness facilities. The spatial arrangement creates a contemplative atmosphere through careful manipulation of lighting and materiality, with particular attention paid to the wellness areas that maintain an ethereal quality through the use of stone and paint finishes. The project's success lies in its ability to create a sanctuary of tranquility while incorporating sophisticated design elements, including a parametrically designed brass pendant installation that serves as a centerpiece, harmoniously blending contemporary design approaches with traditional Chinese architectural principles.
