Prt Architecture Photography
Prt Architecture Photography is an innovative architectural photography series that captures the traditional buildings of Porto, Portugal, through a distinctive artistic lens, transforming urban landscapes into surreal, pastel-toned dreamscapes. Created by photographer Simone Hutsch in early 2022, this collection masterfully interprets the city's historic architecture through a minimalist aesthetic, emphasizing geometric patterns and clean compositions. The series distinguishes itself through its meticulous post-processing technique, where traditional Portuguese buildings are reimagined in ethereal pastel hues, complemented by golden architectural elements and strategically placed clouds that enhance the surreal atmosphere. This sophisticated approach to architectural photography demonstrates exceptional technical prowess in both capture and post-production, utilizing a Sony A7rii camera and Adobe Photoshop to overcome significant challenges such as narrow street perspectives and the removal of modern visual distractions. The work, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in the Photography and Photo Manipulation Design category, showcases Porto's rich architectural heritage while transcending conventional documentary photography through its artistic interpretation. The series particularly excels in its treatment of the city's characteristic tiled facades and traditional building styles, transforming them into abstract compositions that balance historical authenticity with contemporary artistic vision. The high-resolution images, suitable for large-format printing up to A1 size, represent a significant contribution to contemporary architectural photography, merging technical excellence with artistic innovation.
