PosterLad Posters

PosterLad Posters

PosterLad Posters is an innovative digital art project initiated in 2016 by Czech designer Vratislav Pecka, representing a distinctive fusion of modern design elements with vintage aesthetics in poster creation. This ongoing artistic endeavor, which earned the prestigious Silver A' Design Award in Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design category, demonstrates a unique approach to contemporary poster design by combining Bauhaus influences with 1990s graphic sensibilities. The project emerged as a creative outlet from commercial work, evolving into a rigorous daily design practice that showcases meticulous attention to detail and geometric harmony. Each poster is crafted primarily using Adobe InDesign, complemented by Illustrator and Photoshop, and is produced in high-quality B1 format (707x1000mm) on 270g carton paper or occasionally on canvas, maintaining professional CMYK color standards at 300dpi resolution. The artistic philosophy behind PosterLad Posters emphasizes visual balance, drawing inspiration from retro elements such as VHS cases, vintage graphics, and period-specific cultural artifacts, while simultaneously pushing the boundaries of contemporary design aesthetics. This systematic approach to poster creation has not only garnered social media attention but has also led to physical exhibitions, notably at the Prague Congress Centre since 2018, representing a significant contribution to the revival of poster design as a modern art form that transcends traditional informational purposes.
