Pool Rests
Pool rests are devices used in the game of pool, also known as billiards, to provide support and stability for the cue stick during shots. They are typically made of a soft material, such as foam or rubber, and are designed to fit over the edge of the pool table. Pool rests come in a variety of shapes and sizes, including bridge heads, cross rests, spider rests, and extended rests, each of which is designed to provide support for different types of shots. Bridge heads are the most common type of pool rest and are used to support the cue stick when a player needs to make a shot that requires the cue ball to be elevated above the playing surface. Cross rests are used when a player needs to make a shot that requires the cue ball to be struck at an angle that is difficult to achieve with a standard bridge head. Spider rests are similar to cross rests, but have multiple legs that provide additional support and stability for the cue stick. Extended rests are used when a player needs to make a shot that requires the cue ball to be struck from a distance that is too far for a standard bridge head to reach. Pool rests are an essential tool for any serious pool player, as they provide a level of support and stability that is difficult to achieve with the cue stick alone. They allow players to make shots that would otherwise be impossible, and can help to improve accuracy and consistency. Pool rests are also commonly used in pool halls and other venues where pool is played, as they are an important part of the game and are often required for tournament play.
