POMO Lounge Sky Bar
POMO Lounge Sky Bar is an innovative architectural and interior design project that exemplifies the fusion of contemporary design with Oriental aesthetics, situated 100 meters above ground level in Taichung, Taiwan. This remarkable sky bar, spanning 265 square meters, presents itself as a floating glass box surrounded by an edgeless pool, creating an illusion of boundlessness between space and sky. The design's distinctive approach incorporates traditional Chinese splash-ink landscape painting techniques into its modern architectural vocabulary, manifesting through reflective surfaces and carefully curated spatial elements. The project, completed in December 2011, employs premium materials including steel, glass, POMO marble, and titanium plates to achieve its sophisticated aesthetic. The innovative use of water surfaces creates a mirror-like effect that reflects clouds and sky, effectively blurring the boundaries between interior and exterior spaces while generating dynamic light patterns on the ceiling through water refraction. This groundbreaking design, which won the Silver A' Design Award in Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, successfully breaks traditional spatial concepts by implementing neo-Oriental design principles.
