Poly Tan Gim Residential Exhibition Area
Poly Tan Gim Residential Exhibition Area is an innovative landscape architectural project situated along the Pearl River in Liwan District, Guangzhou, that masterfully integrates public and private spaces while celebrating the rich cultural heritage of the Lingnan region. This Silver A' Design Award-winning development, completed in October 2019, encompasses approximately 12,000 square meters and represents a sophisticated approach to contemporary urban landscape design. The project's distinctive design philosophy centers on harmoniously balancing three crucial relationships: the interaction between site conditions and spatial organization, the integration of public and private spaces, and the preservation of historical context while embracing modern design elements. The development features carefully selected materials, including gray tone stones and quartz bricks, complemented by champagne-colored metallic accents and custom-made spray paint glass installations that create an exquisite landscaped wall. The design team employed innovative strategies to address complex circulation patterns and spatial organization, utilizing terrain variations and waterscape elements to guide visitor flow naturally through the space. The project's success lies in its thoughtful interpretation of traditional Xiguan architectural language while incorporating modern design elements, creating a community park that serves both public and private functions. The development's significance extends beyond its aesthetic appeal, as it successfully activates daily life and functional activities in the surrounding area, establishing a meaningful connection between urban public spaces and private domains while preserving the cultural memory of historic Xiguan.
