Plastic Bubble Packs For Wrapping

Plastic bubble packs, also known as bubble wrap, are a type of packaging material that consists of small, air-filled bubbles trapped between two layers of plastic film. This packaging material is widely used for wrapping fragile and delicate items, such as glassware, electronics, and artwork, to protect them from damage during shipping and handling. The invention of bubble wrap is credited to Marc Chavannes and Alfred Fielding, who were attempting to create a textured wallpaper in the late 1950s. However, they soon realized that their creation had a much more practical use as a packaging material. Today, bubble wrap is produced in various sizes and thicknesses to accommodate different types of items and shipping needs. Bubble wrap provides excellent cushioning and shock absorption, as the air-filled bubbles compress and distribute the impact of any force applied to the package. Additionally, the plastic film provides a barrier against moisture and dust, further protecting the contents of the package. While plastic bubble packs are effective at protecting items during shipping, they have come under scrutiny for their environmental impact. The plastic film used in bubble wrap is not biodegradable and can take hundreds of years to decompose. As a result, many companies and individuals are seeking alternative packaging materials that are more environmentally friendly.
