Planck Coffee Table
Planck Coffee Table is an innovative furniture design that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of functionality and aesthetic refinement in contemporary interior design. Created by Belgian designer Kristof De Bock, this sophisticated piece features a distinctive construction method utilizing vertically oriented plywood pieces that are precision-cut with CNC technology and bonded under high pressure, resulting in an exceptionally robust structure despite its elegant, minimalist appearance. The table's dimensions of 75 cm width, 46 cm depth, and 30 cm height are thoughtfully proportioned according to the golden ratio, contributing to its visual appeal while maintaining practical utility. Distinguished by its dual-level design incorporating a hollow interior space, the table offers convenient storage for magazines, books, and throws, addressing both aesthetic and functional considerations in modern living spaces. The piece's innovative engineering extends to its mobility solution, featuring carefully selected nylon bullet wheels that enable silent movement across various flooring surfaces while maintaining a minimal floor clearance. The surfaces are meticulously finished through intensive sandpapering and treated with a matt, highly durable varnish that enhances both its appearance and longevity. This exceptional design earned recognition with a Golden A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category, acknowledging its outstanding contribution to contemporary furniture design through its innovative material application, functional versatility, and aesthetic sophistication.
