Pinch Chair is an innovative, unibody stackable seating solution that represents a contemporary reimagining of traditional plastic chair design, created by designers Ping-Lun Chung, Yen-Ting Lin, and Fang-Yu Chen. Distinguished by its seamless construction and dynamic visual aesthetic, this chair emerges from a singular plastic sheet transformed through precise pinching and pulling manipulations, resulting in a cohesive form that harmoniously integrates with modern architectural spaces. The design, measuring 549 x 558 x 822 millimeters, employs sophisticated plastic injection molding technology to achieve its distinctive silhouette while maintaining practical functionality. A notable feature of the Pinch Chair is its dual-purpose functionality - it is not only stackable for efficient storage but can also be inverted and placed securely on dining tables, facilitating thorough floor cleaning in restaurant settings. This thoughtful design consideration emerged from extensive research into restaurant owners' requirements and preferences, addressing both practical maintenance needs and aesthetic expectations. The chair's development, completed between January and May 2021 in Taiwan, demonstrates a careful balance between form and function, earning recognition with a Silver A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category for its innovative approach to everyday seating solutions.
