Pietro Aquila was an Italian artist who lived during the 17th century. He was born in Palermo, Sicily, and spent most of his life in Rome. Aquila was a master of the Baroque style, which was characterized by its dramatic use of light and shadow, as well as its grandeur and opulence. His works were highly sought after by the aristocracy and the Church, and he received many commissions throughout his career.
