Picture Mounts Made Of Cardboard
Picture mounts made of cardboard are a popular and cost-effective way of displaying and protecting artwork, photographs, and other types of images. A mount, also known as a mat, is a flat piece of material that is placed between the image and the frame. The purpose of the mount is to create a border around the image, which enhances its visual appeal and provides a buffer between the image and the glass or acrylic cover. Cardboard is a common material used for making picture mounts due to its durability, versatility, and affordability. Cardboard picture mounts come in a variety of colors, thicknesses, and sizes. They can be cut to fit any frame and can be customized to match the image being displayed. The thickness of the mount can vary depending on the desired effect. A thicker mount can create a more dramatic effect and draw the viewer's attention to the image. Thinner mounts are more subtle and can be used to create a more minimalist look. One of the benefits of using cardboard picture mounts is that they are acid-free and archival quality. This means that they will not yellow or fade over time, which can be a concern when displaying valuable or sentimental images. Additionally, cardboard is a sustainable material that can be recycled, making it an eco-friendly choice for those who are environmentally conscious. In conclusion, picture mounts made of cardboard are a practical and affordable option for displaying and protecting images. They come in a variety of colors, thicknesses, and sizes, and can be customized to fit any frame or image. Cardboard mounts are also acid-free, archival quality, and eco-friendly, making them a popular choice for both amateur and professional artists and photographers.
