Phuket VIP Mercury Studio Office is an innovative architectural interior design project located on Phuket Island, Thailand, that masterfully integrates cosmic aesthetics with functional workspace design across 570 square meters. Conceived and executed by Chinese designer Songhuan Wu, this platinum award-winning office space demonstrates a sophisticated exploration of planetary themes through its extensive use of circular elements and geometric spheres, creating a harmonious balance between openness and functionality. The design philosophy centers on three key architectural solutions: achieving spatial openness while maintaining functionality, orchestrating the strategic division and combination of functional areas, and establishing a cohesive yet dynamic spatial style. The project, completed in December 2019, employs premium materials including terrazzo art paint, aluminum plate, copper stainless steel, wood veneer, oak flooring, and carpet to create an environment that seamlessly integrates with its natural surroundings. The interior's distinctive feature lies in its abstract interpretation of planetary elements, incorporating brand symbolism through geometric spherical forms and customized furniture that extends the conceptual narrative. This innovative approach earned the project a Platinum A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, recognizing its exceptional contribution to commercial space aesthetics. The design successfully addresses the challenge of transforming a rectangular space on abandoned roads into a dynamic environment that maintains visual continuity while fostering productivity and aesthetic appreciation, utilizing advanced BIM standards for three-dimensional data management and demonstrating a remarkable balance between decoration and restraint.
