Permeability

Permeability in architecture is the ability of a structure or material to allow water and air to pass through it. It is often used to describe the ability of a material or building to allow water vapor and air to flow through it, thus enabling the structure to be more energy efficient. Examples of permeable materials and structures include bricks, stone, concrete, and other porous materials. These materials and structures are designed to reduce the amount of water and air that is trapped in a building or structure, thus reducing the amount of energy required to maintain the temperature levels inside the structure. Additionally, permeable materials and structures are designed to reduce the amount of water runoff that occurs in urban areas.

Permeability

Permeability in architecture is a concept that describes the ability of a building to allow for the free movement of air, light and water through its structure. It is often used to refer to the various forms of ventilation and light transmission, and the amount of water that is able to travel through the building envelope. The concept of permeability is closely related to sustainability, as it can reduce energy consumption by allowing natural resources to be used more efficiently. Additionally, it can also contribute to the overall aesthetic of a building, allowing for a more harmonious relationship between the structure and its environment.

Airflow, illumination, thermal regulation, water infiltration, and natural ventilation are the five keywords related to the concept of permeability in architecture. Airflow refers to the movement of air through the building envelope, while illumination de
