Pendú Organiser Shelf

Pendú Organiser Shelf

Pendú Organiser shelf is an innovative multifunctional furniture piece designed to serve as a sophisticated entryway organization solution, combining the functionality of multiple household items into a single, space-efficient design. Created by designers Renata Gutierrez and James Rowland in Paraty, Brazil in 2016, this wall-mounted shelf exemplifies thoughtful minimalist design through its integration of storage solutions and daily utility features. Crafted from sustainable hardwoods, specifically reclaimed ipê and garapeira, the shelf measures 495mm in width, 110mm in depth, and 55mm in height, incorporating clever storage solutions both above and below its main surface. The design features two concealed magnets underneath for securing keys, three dovetail-joined hooks for hanging bags or accessories, and a flat upper surface with two overlapping depressions designed for coins and small items. A distinctive feature is its integrated mirror, facilitating final appearance checks before leaving home. The shelf's mounting system employs hidden keyhole slots, ensuring a clean aesthetic while allowing for easy installation and removal. The design, which won an Iron A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category in 2018, represents a significant innovation in space-efficient furniture design, particularly suitable for contemporary urban living spaces where maximizing functionality while minimizing spatial footprint is crucial. The piece's thoughtful construction eliminates the need for visible fasteners, with the hooks being seamlessly integrated through dovetail joints, demonstrating exceptional attention to craftsmanship and detail.
