Pearl River Wenjiang Block B Urban Architecture
Pearl River Wenjiang Block B Urban Architecture is a monumental urban development project located in the Pearl River New Town Project in Wenjiang District, Chengdu, representing a sophisticated approach to contemporary urban planning and architectural design. This ambitious development encompasses a building scale of 644,765 square meters across a 109,654-square-meter area, featuring fourteen high-rise office towers and ten commercial pedestrian streets with multi-level podiums. The project, which commenced design in September 2018, introduces the innovative CAZ (Central Activity Zone) concept, fundamentally reconstructing spatial layouts and industrial functions to create a vibrant third living space for western Chengdu's citizens. The architectural design employs a sophisticated window-wall system with aluminum framing, complemented by aerial greening that creates effective facade gray spaces while minimizing light pollution. The development integrates diverse transportation systems within a three-dimensional city framework, incorporating open blocks, waterfront parks, and art courtyards to foster a healthy, livable environment. The project's distinctive features include its mixed-use approach, combining five-star hotels, Grade-A office buildings, commercial complexes, financial streets, and riverside commercial spaces along a significant 1km axis. Designed by Dr. Shanxing Gao, an architect with over two decades of experience in commercial architecture, the project exemplifies sustainable urban development principles and innovative design solutions, earning recognition with a Bronze A' Design Award in the City Planning and Urban Design category for its outstanding contribution to urban planning and architectural excellence.
