Peacock Woods Villa
Peacock Woods Villa is a distinguished residential architectural masterpiece located in Ahmednagar, India, exemplifying a harmonious blend of modern design principles and traditional values. Completed in 2012, this expansive 20,000-square-foot residence stands as a testament to innovative architectural design, featuring four levels with five bedrooms in the main structure and an additional two-bedroom outhouse. The villa's design philosophy centers around a triple-height informal living area that serves as a central pivot, with spaces flowing seamlessly through oscillating volumes that create dynamic transitions between rooms. The structure adheres meticulously to vastu shastra principles, incorporating cutting-edge technology for environmental performance and automation while maintaining cultural sensitivity. Notable architectural elements include the minimal fenestration on the southern facade, expansive landscaping on all sides, and the integration of premium materials such as Brazilian Ipe hardwood, which offers concrete-equivalent fire resistance. The property showcases hand-sculpted yellow Siena marble features, including distinctive lions and fountains, while achieving LEED certification through its environmentally conscious design approach. The villa's interior design reflects its inhabitants' dynamic personality through vibrant, charismatic living spaces, while the exterior presents a modern, resort-like aesthetic that respects the site's natural vegetation. This Bronze A' Design Award-winning project, designed by Aijaz Hakim Architect, stands as a significant achievement in residential architecture, successfully overcoming challenges of remote location and resource limitations to create a sophisticated living environment that celebrates family heritage while embracing contemporary luxury and sustainability.
