PDcoffee VIS Design
PDcoffee VIS Design is an innovative visual identity system created for a mobile coffee venture in Taiwan, exemplifying a sophisticated approach to brand communication in the contemporary coffee culture landscape. The design, conceived by Tsung-Hua Yang, addresses the challenge of reconnecting consumers with the authentic essence of coffee in an increasingly routine-driven market. At its core, the visual identity system features a distinctive logo design that ingeniously integrates the lowercase letters 'p' and 'd' in a dynamic interplay, where the magenta 'p' symbolizes the passionate service providers, while the yellow-orange 'd' represents engaged customers, creating a visual metaphor for the brand's interactive relationship with its clientele. The comprehensive visual identity system encompasses various applications including business cards with Pantone color and spot varnish treatments, canvas banners measuring 60 x 180 cm, and vehicle graphics for mobile diners spanning 200 x 117 cm. The design philosophy emphasizes vitality and active engagement, employing a strategic color palette and dynamic visual elements to convey freshness and energy. This mobile-first approach to coffee service design required extensive research to ensure the visual identity remained both contextually appropriate and distinctively visible across various tourist locations. The project, completed in 2016, represents a significant innovation in mobile retail branding, earning recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design category, acknowledging its excellence in addressing modern consumer engagement challenges while maintaining design integrity and functional effectiveness.
