Partial of Style Residential House is an award-winning residential interior design project that masterfully reimagines the cultural heritage of Haimen, China, through contemporary architectural vocabulary. Located in an area known as North Shanghai, this 195-square-meter residence exemplifies a sophisticated fusion of Eastern and Western design elements, drawing inspiration from the region's colonial history and the glamorous aesthetic of 1950s and 1960s Shanghai. The design, conceived by Nic Lee and team, employs a carefully curated selection of premium materials including serpentine, marble, walnut, and brass to create a space that bridges historical elegance with modern luxury. The interior layout encompasses a living room, dining room, kitchen, study area, master room, bedroom, and bathroom, each space thoughtfully composed to create a rhythmic flow that pays homage to the architectural heritage of Shili Yangchang's traditional alleyways. The project, completed between 2019 and 2020, distinguishes itself through its innovative use of color blocking and material contrasts, where dark green serpentine and plain white marble create dramatic visual compositions reminiscent of oil paintings. The design earned recognition at the A' Design Award competition, receiving an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its excellence in spatial design and cultural interpretation. The project's success lies in its ability to create a contemporary living environment that maintains a strong connection to the region's rich cultural heritage while incorporating modern functionality and aesthetic sensibilities.
