Panoramic House is an exemplary architectural masterpiece situated along the Brazilian coastline, embodying a harmonious fusion of contemporary design principles and environmental consciousness. This residential structure, designed by Brazilian architect Eliza Schuchovski, represents a sophisticated approach to modern living through its innovative use of parametric design elements and strategic integration with its natural surroundings. The residence, which garnered a Golden A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design category, features dramatic triangular cantilevers, including a strategically positioned pool and a distinctive main suite volume that maximize the breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean and preserved forest landscape. The architectural program is thoughtfully divided into three main areas - social, intimate, and service sectors - interconnected through a mezzanine that showcases a sculptural spiral staircase as its centerpiece. The structure employs a Brazilian construction methodology utilizing concrete slabs and beams with masonry walls, enhanced by prestressed slabs that enable expansive spans and generous openings. The project's commitment to sustainability is evident in its energy-efficient solutions and minimal resource utilization, while its Brazilian identity is expressed through carefully selected natural materials, textures, and colors that complement the surrounding environment. The three-and-a-half-year development process resulted in a residence that masterfully addresses the challenges of its rugged topography while creating spacious, integrated living areas that foster family connections and embrace the panoramic coastal vistas.
