Owl Currency Exchange rate viewer is a sophisticated mobile application designed to provide comprehensive currency exchange functionalities, developed through international collaboration between Seoul and Vancouver. This multifunctional financial tool, distinguished by its user-centric interface design, enables users to monitor exchange rates between USD, Bitcoin, and over 190 other currencies while maintaining remarkable simplicity in its operation. The application's architecture deliberately conceals complex configurations behind an intuitive interface, implementing a strategic use of Chevron marks to indicate additional setting options, thereby preserving accessibility without compromising functionality. Each menu section features a distinct layout design to prevent user confusion, demonstrating exceptional attention to user experience principles. The application, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in the Mobile Technologies, Applications and Software Design category in 2018, incorporates culturally sensitive design elements, particularly in its approach to color coding for price fluctuations, acknowledging the varying cultural interpretations of colors in financial contexts between Western and Asian markets. Developed using Sketch 3 technology, the application integrates four primary functions: Exchange Rate viewing, Currency Conversion, Property Management, and Exchange Rate Alerts, all accessible through a streamlined tab bar interface. The design, conceptualized by Hongseon Kim and developed by Duhyun Kim, draws inspiration from the owl's nocturnal nature, symbolizing constant reliability across different time zones, and represents a significant achievement in balancing complex functionality with intuitive user interaction.
