Oriental Permanent Art Resident Villa
Oriental Permanent Art Resident Villa is an exemplary residential interior design project that masterfully integrates traditional Chinese aesthetics with contemporary living requirements, completed in 2018 in northern Taiwan. This 290-square-meter residence, designed by Chung Chieh Tseng, showcases a sophisticated interpretation of Chinese design philosophy through its thoughtful spatial arrangement and aesthetic elements. The design's primary focus centers on creating a harmonious balance between public and private spaces, utilizing a refined color palette of lily white and natural wood tones to establish a serene atmosphere. A distinguishing feature of the villa is its dedicated tea ceremony room, which serves as both a functional space and a symbolic representation of traditional Chinese culture, elevated by 15 and 12 centimeters in different sections to maintain visual flow and circulation. The interior incorporates numerous cultural elements, including a premium Burmese jade installation at the entrance symbolizing auspiciousness, hand-painted ink glass sliding doors that evoke Chinese splash-ink artistry, and a hand-embroidered reproduction of Along the River During the Qing Ming Festival as bedroom decor. The project, which earned a Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, demonstrates exceptional spatial planning by effectively connecting three bedrooms and a bathroom while maintaining adequate circulation paths. The design philosophy emphasizes the concepts of simplicity, serenity, leisure, and elegance, particularly evident in the tea ceremony room's features, including a suspended cast iron teapot and traditional wooden tea table, creating an environment that seamlessly blends artistic expression with daily living.
