Organic Cities New Cities
Organic Cities New Cities is an innovative architectural masterplan that represents a groundbreaking approach to urban development, specifically designed as a landmark project for the United Arab Emirates skyline. This visionary concept integrates organic architectural forms with sustainable design principles to create a self-sufficient megalopolis that seamlessly blends residential, commercial, cultural, and social spaces. The project is distinguished by its dual-component design featuring terrestrial organic buildings and sea-based moon structures, interconnected through an elaborate network of roads, parks, and pedestrian pathways. The development encompasses a vast total floor area capable of accommodating over 150,000 inhabitants, with 50% of the space dedicated to green areas and communal spaces. The architectural composition includes buildings reaching heights of up to 470 meters on land and 190 meters for the sea-based structures, incorporating advanced sustainability features such as double-skin facades with integrated louvers for natural ventilation and photovoltaic film coverage for energy harvesting. The design, which earned the prestigious Golden A' Design Award in the Architecture, Building and Structure Design category, demonstrates exceptional innovation in its approach to contemporary urban living, featuring more than 800,000 square meters of hospitality spaces, 6.3 million square meters of cultural and retail facilities, and 4.5 million square meters of office and social service areas. The project's organic forms are specifically engineered to optimize solar radiation throughout the day, while its innovative structure draws inspiration from natural formations capable of thriving in coastal desert environments, representing a significant evolution in metropolitan design that addresses the social alienation characteristic of 20th and 21st-century cities.
