Orbita Lamp

Orbita Lamp

Orbita Lamp is an innovative lighting fixture that seamlessly integrates traditional craftsmanship with modern technology, designed by Andres Luer Solorza. This interactive floor lamp features a distinctive spherical design that can be split into two rotating hemispheres, allowing users to control light intensity through an intuitive gestural interface. The lamp's construction showcases a harmonious blend of natural and industrial materials, featuring a solid wood tripod base crafted from reclaimed Patagonian timber, complemented by interchangeable dome hemispheres available in copper, brass, aluminum, or wicker. The sophisticated engineering incorporates a 360-degree rotating mechanism with an integrated circuit board that maintains electrical connectivity throughout the rotation, enabling four distinct lighting settings. Standing at 135 centimeters in height with a 50-centimeter footprint, the lamp's design emphasizes sustainability through its use of reclaimed wood, while its technical innovations include an interchangeable LED ring light source and a specially engineered pivotal core with an easy-fit locking system for maintenance. The design, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in the Lighting Products and Fixtures Design category in 2022, represents a significant achievement in combining artisanal woodworking traditions with contemporary lighting technology, offering a unique solution that addresses the evolving demands of modern interior lighting while maintaining a strong commitment to sustainability and user interaction.
