Open Village Cinema is an innovative architectural transformation project that reimagines a decommissioned factory into a vibrant cultural hub and arthouse cinema, exemplifying the successful integration of industrial heritage with contemporary cultural spaces. Located in a rural village setting, this architectural masterpiece spans impressive dimensions of 16000mm width, 38700mm depth, and 14700mm height, featuring a distinctive combination of preserved industrial elements and modern design interventions. The structure's most notable features include carefully designed pierced brick walls that serve as brise soleil shading devices, polygonal glazing systems, and a striking glass staircase that weaves through the building's exterior shell. The design, which earned the prestigious Golden A' Design Award in the Architecture, Building and Structure Design category, demonstrates exceptional attention to technical innovation, particularly in its sophisticated glass installation techniques where patterns are embedded between dual glass layers for enhanced durability. The cinema's irregular form and polychromatic exterior create a dynamic visual presence while maintaining contextual harmony through its brick façade. Adjacent cement silos have been thoughtfully repurposed into a bookstore, expanding the facility's cultural offerings.
