Olympea House
Olympea House is an architecturally distinguished residential villa nestled in the mountains of Lebanon, exemplifying a harmonious integration of modern design with natural topography. The innovative structure, designed by architect Joy Alexandre Harb, features a unique composition of two interconnected L-shaped structures on the ground floor that create an internal green patio, visible from all interior spaces, effectively eliminating the need for traditional corridors while optimizing spatial efficiency. The design's most notable feature is its seamless embedding within the mountainous terrain, demonstrating exceptional sensitivity to environmental impact. The residence encompasses a ground floor of 600 square meters of indoor space and 150 square meters of terrace area, complemented by two basement levels totaling 700 square meters with an additional 300-square-meter garden. The property's distinctive characteristics include the symbolic placement of a cedar tree, Lebanon's national emblem, within the central patio, serving as the heart of the home. The construction employs premium materials including natural stone, low-emission glass, and black steel for pergolas and fireplaces, while incorporating advanced heating and cooling systems through heated flooring and strategic heat exchange mechanisms. This exceptional architectural achievement, recognized with a Golden A' Design Award in the Architecture, Building and Structure Design category, represents a masterful balance of luxury, functionality, and environmental consciousness in contemporary residential design.
