Old Town of Lijiang Illustration is a sophisticated visual communication project that artfully captures and preserves the cultural heritage of Lijiang's ancient city through contemporary digital illustration techniques. Created by designer Ju Jijing under the art direction of Huo Kai, this series of vector-based illustrations masterfully combines traditional Chinese architectural elements with modern aesthetic sensibilities, presenting the rich cultural tapestry of Lijiang in an accessible and engaging format. The project, completed between September 2022 and January 2023, employs high-level printing and manufacturing technologies to render intricate details at 800mm x 800mm dimensions with 150dpi resolution in RGB color space. The illustrations serve a dual purpose of cultural preservation and public education, creatively interpreting the architectural and social elements of Lijiang's historic urban landscape while raising awareness about cultural heritage protection. Through careful attention to color gradation, scene composition, and atmospheric rendering, the work successfully bridges traditional storytelling with contemporary visual language, earning recognition with a Silver A' Design Award in the Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design category.
