OKSANA Coat Hangers Coat Hanger And Coat Rack

OKSANA coat hangers Coat Hanger and Coat Rack is an innovative furniture design that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of traditional craftsmanship and contemporary functionality, created by Swiss designers Fabian Bernhard and Thomas Burkard. This ultra-lightweight hanging system, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category, features a distinctive revolving textile belt shaped by a wooden slat that forms its characteristic silhouette. The design's ingenuity lies in its simple yet effective mechanism that operates through a push-pull system, where the wooden component provides structural support while the fabric belt ensures gentle clothing storage. The system incorporates traditional woven belts from Western Ukraine, showcasing local patterns and craftsmanship within a modern design context. The collection comprises both individual hangers measuring 20 x 20 x 320 millimeters and a full-length coat rack extending to 1800 millimeters, both crafted from oak wood and featuring inox-steel hooks. The design's versatility is enhanced by its adaptability to custom patterns and corporate branding through woven or stitched logos, making it suitable for both residential and commercial applications. Notable features include its reduced and flexible design that facilitates easy threading through garment collars, while the textile belt provides a gentle support surface that helps preserve clothing integrity. This design, launched in 2012-2013, represents a significant achievement in furniture design by successfully combining aesthetic appeal, functional innovation, and cultural preservation, demonstrating how traditional elements can be reimagined for contemporary use.
