Oasis Sustainable Hotel

Oasis Sustainable Hotel is an innovative architectural rehabilitation project that transforms an abandoned hospital into a sustainable leisure destination, exemplifying the principles of adaptive reuse and environmental consciousness in contemporary hospitality design. This groundbreaking project, designed by Liyang Chen and Zhengyan Jiang, preserves much of the original building's character while introducing modern sustainable elements across its 5,950 square meters. The design philosophy centers on the concept of natural architecture, minimizing material consumption and maximizing the integration of natural elements throughout the space. The hotel features 25 villa rooms and incorporates numerous amenities including a gym, indoor rock climbing wall, flora classroom, art gallery, outdoor swimming pool, open-air coffee bar, sky restaurant, and rooftop bar. The project's distinctive approach to sustainability is evident in its creative reuse of materials, such as repurposing discarded steel bars as decorative iron trees in the hall, transforming driftwood into furniture, and converting old fishing equipment into lighting fixtures. The design creates a harmonious blend of nature and architecture through the extensive use of climbing plants, natural light, and thoughtful space planning. Floor-to-ceiling glass windows in the lobby create a luminous atmosphere, while the strategic incorporation of greenery throughout the property establishes an urban oasis effect. This Bronze A' Design Award-winning project in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category represents a significant achievement in sustainable hospitality design, demonstrating how abandoned urban structures can be revitalized to create environmentally conscious spaces that serve both tourist and business travelers seeking respite from city life.
