Non-metal Rumble Strips

Non-metal Rumble Strips

Non-metal rumble strips are a type of traffic calming measure that are used to alert drivers of an upcoming change in road conditions. Unlike traditional metal rumble strips, which are made of metal and can be noisy and uncomfortable for drivers, non-metal rumble strips are made of materials such as rubber, plastic, or composite materials. These strips are designed to produce a similar audible and tactile feedback to drivers, but with less noise and discomfort. Non-metal rumble strips are typically installed on the edge of the roadway or in the centerline, and are used to alert drivers of upcoming curves, intersections, or other potential hazards. They are also used to indicate changes in speed limits or to warn drivers of upcoming construction zones. Non-metal rumble strips are often preferred over traditional metal strips in residential areas, where noise pollution can be a concern. In addition to their noise-reducing properties, non-metal rumble strips have other advantages over traditional metal strips. They are more durable and resistant to weather and wear, and they can be installed more quickly and easily. They are also less likely to cause damage to vehicles or to create a hazard for motorcyclists. Overall, non-metal rumble strips are an effective and versatile traffic calming measure that can help improve safety on the roads while minimizing noise pollution and other negative impacts.
