Ningbo Hanvos School Education Building is an innovative educational architecture project that exemplifies contemporary approaches to spatial organization and pedagogical design in modern school construction. Located in China with a site area of 53,330 square meters and a building area of 36,362 square meters, this educational facility introduces the groundbreaking concept of a Folded Courtyard that orchestrates space both horizontally and vertically. The design ingeniously addresses the challenge of limited land use through a vertical stacking approach, positioning core public spaces on the building's upper terraces while situating basic teaching units below. This architectural solution creates a unique Zero Distance spatial conversion system where internal spaces are wrapped by layered platforms, facilitating seamless transitions between different functional areas. The building employs sustainable materials including barotropic aerated concrete blocks and advanced thermal insulation systems, complemented by rooftop solar energy storage solutions. The structure's innovative design, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in the Architecture, Building and Structure Design category, subdivides the space into distinct functional courtyards dedicated to teaching, activities, administration, and recreation.
