NikolaTesla Switch Induction Cooktop

NikolaTesla Switch Induction Cooktop

NikolaTesla Switch Induction Cooktop is an innovative kitchen appliance that revolutionizes the cooking experience by seamlessly integrating an advanced induction cooktop with a sophisticated extraction system. Designed by Fabrizio Crisà, this groundbreaking appliance features a distinctive central disk made of glass and steel that sits flush with the cooktop surface, ingeniously concealing the extraction mechanism. The design, which earned the prestigious Platinum A' Design Award in the Home Appliances Design category, represents a harmonious fusion of form and function, incorporating a tilting flap mechanism inspired by aircraft wing dynamics. The cooking surface is crafted from precision water jet-cut ceramic glass, complemented by a revolving flap featuring die-cast aluminum with either black or polished aluminum finishing. The extraction system employs advanced technology, including micro-magnet balls that activate VOC sensors, while the three-layered metallic mesh grease filter, oriented at different angles, ensures optimal performance. The appliance's sophisticated design allows for extraction capabilities that are five times faster than conventional rising speed, while maintaining impressively quiet operation. The wide glass surface, measuring 830x515x211 millimeters, is deliberately minimalist in appearance, featuring intuitive controls and an automatic mode for enhanced user experience. The central fan integration demonstrates exceptional engineering, delivering superior fume capture efficiency while maintaining energy consciousness, making it particularly suitable for modern, high-end kitchen environments. The development of this innovative appliance, which began in January 2017 and was unveiled at Salone del Mobile in April 2018, required extensive research and technological innovation, particularly in perfecting the flap mechanism and sensor integration.
