NIKE MOBILE TRUCK Innovative Running Experience
NIKE MOBILE TRUCK Innovative Running Experience is an innovative interactive installation designed to revolutionize the traditional running experience through immersive technology and spatial design. This groundbreaking mobile installation, developed in Hong Kong during 2013-2014, transforms a 6-meter-long truck into a futuristic running environment that combines advanced LED mirror systems, interactive treadmill technology, and sophisticated 3D gaming environments. The installation features an infinite LED mirror system on both sides, creating an internal reflection that extends the spatial depth, while sequenced light programming delivers an epic lead-in experience. The core technology integrates three extended projection screens connected to a modified treadmill, controlled through Arduino microcontrollers, offering users a choice of three virtual running tracks modeled after Hong Kong's famous marathon routes, reimagined in futuristic abstractions. The installation's user interface design incorporates generative visual algorithms inspired by innovative knitting technology, while the Unity3D game engine synchronizes with ambient lighting to create a fully immersive experience. This Silver A' Design Award-winning project in the Interface, Interaction and User Experience Design category represents a significant advancement in experiential design, combining physical exercise with digital interaction. The installation traveled to 23 different running hotspots throughout Hong Kong, allowing participants to not only experience the innovative running environment but also share their personal running motivations through social media platforms, creating a community-driven narrative around the activity of running.
