Next Hub Mixed Use
Next Hub Mixed Use is an innovative architectural complex in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, that exemplifies the integration of contemporary design principles with traditional Arabic architectural elements. This mixed-use development encompasses multiple facilities including a 108-room hotel, administrative buildings, entertainment venues, and food and beverage establishments, all organized around a central plaza spanning 7,200 square meters. The design, which earned a Silver A' Design Award in Architecture, Building and Structure Design category, draws inspiration from traditional Middle Eastern markets known as Wikala, featuring a thoughtfully arranged composition of masses that enclose the main plaza to create engaging internal views and foster social interaction. The project's distinctive skyline, characterized by varying building heights, pays homage to Saudi Arabia's natural topography while incorporating sustainable design elements such as internal courtyards that facilitate natural ventilation and sunlight penetration. Constructed using a combination of concrete and steel, the complex showcases premium architectural finishes including honed silver travertine stone, black steel, desaturated brown stucco, and double-glazed glass. The development occupies a plot area of 23,000 square meters and adheres to strict architectural regulations including specific setbacks and height limitations. The design successfully addresses contemporary urban challenges while respecting cultural sensitivities, creating a harmonious balance between public and private spaces through its sophisticated circulation system that separates hotel, administrative, and entertainment access points. The project's innovative approach to mixed-use development has redefined the architectural landscape of Jeddah, establishing new standards for integrated urban spaces that promote social interaction while maintaining cultural authenticity.
