NewForm Exhibition Space is an innovative retail and exhibition environment that masterfully integrates product display with artistic conception, designed by Huainan Jia and Jian Zhu. Located in Shanghai and completed in 2020, this 224-square-meter space represents a revolutionary approach to experiential retail design, drawing inspiration from natural elements and incorporating them into a sophisticated architectural narrative. The space's design philosophy centers on the concept of nature's power, manifested through various sensory experiences including visual, auditory, and tactile elements. A centerpiece of the design is the Dance of Water art installation, which creates an ethereal overhead display reminiscent of suspended water droplets, while strategic use of black linear elements challenges spatial boundaries. The exhibition space employs a sophisticated modular display system that allows for mobile reuse and adaptation, demonstrating a commitment to functional flexibility. The interior architecture deliberately alternates between light and dark zones, breaking from traditional retail layouts to create a dynamic journey through the space. Notable features include Italian handmade ceramic tile walls, mechanical atmospheric elements, and thoughtfully integrated green spaces that facilitate product presentation while maintaining artistic integrity.
